ORGANISING SCHOOL KEEPSAKES
School project COMBI keepsake box
Looking for a school holiday project to do with the kids? Now’s the perfect time to sit down with them and sort through all their school stuff. You know all their school projects, artwork, letters and reports you’ve kept in a pile in the spare corner of the house. First you need to gather everything you’ve kept and sort through them to decide what you want to keep. Do this with your kids as you’ll be surprised what things are most important to them.
When you’ve finished slip all the school keepsakes in a folder with archival safe plastic sleeves. This means you can easily flick through them later without damaging them. Label the folder with their name and school year. Or ask you child to create a cover for the folder for a special personal touch. You can keep adding to this folder during the rest of the school year and create a new one if necessary.
Keep the folder in a strong, archival safe Memory Box, adding anything else that was too big for the folder. This will keep everything safe from dust and dirt. Label the box with your child’s name and keep it accessible so you can add to it.
Now you have your kids’ school stuff all organised and safe, and have started a working archive of their life!
